Free enterprise email server is a must to have for any business regardless of its size, whether it’s a 1 user based business or a small company.

So let’s get started with the following commands:
Change your working directory to tmp:
Download Zimbra Collaboration Open Source compressed package:
Connecting to files.zimbra.com|18.104.22.168|:443… connected.

Then we will untar/uncompress the tarball we just downloaded:
tar xzvf zcs-8.6.0_GA_1153.RHEL6_64.20141215151155.tgz
Change the working directory to the Zimbra installation:
Start installing Zimbra:
There might be some packages needed to complete the installation, in the next screen the installer should guide you whether you need extra packages or not to complete zimbra the free enterprise email server.
Make sure your hostname is resolvable from the internet aka FQDN.
That’s it! Now you can navigate to your hostname and start creating e-mail address, or even configure it to sell it to your customer it comes with many many features, and it’s actually considered to be the best alternative to microsoft exchange email server, the difference is this free enterprise email server and also open source, with a great community support.
